Deep Hit Music

  Hailing from the Gold Coast, Australia, Peach Fur make psychedelic pop intertwined with rock and reggae sensibilities, complementing their sun-kissed, exotic sound. Emerging in 2015 with their debut EP ' Pleasures and Necessities', Peach Fur have gone on to release a full length album with ' Doreen Drive'  in 2018, followed by their most recent body of work, ' Awake'  EP released back in March of 2020. From The Cat Empire to INXS, discover the records in Peach Fur's collection which have brought influence to their songwriting and recording, and ultimately moulded their music. - (DH): First off, can you tell me about an album which first pricked your interest and made you want to start playing music? - (DENNY): 'Ooo, it'd have to either be ' Californication' by Red Hot or 'Innerspeaker' by Tame Impala.   The North of England, and Manchester in particular, has always been synonymous with the experimental and often primal textures that make up post-punk and new wave. From the abrasive hostility of Joy Division to the mechanical haywire of The Fall, the North was once upon a time a breeding ground for music that perfectly incorporated punk, noise, psychedelia and garage rock, producing some of the most influential groups of the late-seventies-to-early-eighties period.   It seems that over 40-something years after this strange blend  arose and formed, the level of bands producing music of the same equivalent were few and far between. With a stronger focus and influence coming from the more commercially successful British acts of the nineties and onward, the distinctive combination of discordant guitar lines and sporadic vocals seemed to crop up less and less within emerging bands; it seemed as though the influence of such music was seeing a lull.        ...

    The first time I witnessed the OFF-BEATS in a live setting, it involved their crazed and somewhat inebriated frontman taking to the stage adorned in a deflated sumo suit. The last time I saw the OFF-BEATS in a live setting, it saw him taking to the stage in similar fancy dress attire, this time as a fried egg, and also saw the removal of leg-wear mid-set, although whether this was for added manouverability or shock value I'm not sure. A number of months after this gig took place saw the country go into its first lockdown, leaving me to wonder, if Covid-19 hadn't swept the nation, what other novelty apparel may I have seen the OFF-BEATS vocalist performing in? Despite their crazy stage antics however, the OFF-BEATS offer more to the audience than just an on-stage spectacle.
